Former Chief Scientist and Tenured Computer Science Professor Provides Strategic Guidance and Expertise to Expand Adoption of Skycatch Mining Solution
Skycatch is proud to announce that we have recently added Karin Breitman, interim Chief Data and Analytics officer for Rio Tinto, to Skycatch’s Advisory Board.
Founded in 1873, Rio Tinto is an Anglo-Australian multinational company that operates the world’s second-largest metals and mining corporation, headquartered in London, UK, and Melbourne, Australia.
Karin is a distinguished expert in her field, also serving on the Board of Directors for Engie Brazil Energia, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Business School (COPPEAD), Grupo Editorial Nacional, RDA Research Data Alliance, and European Union Brazil Cloud Forum.
Karin has had a dual career, holding a tenured Computer Science Professor position at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where she led joint industry projects with NASA, HP, IBM, and Microsoft.
She has also previously held roles as corporate Vice President and Chief Scientist at EMC and Dell Technologies.

The Skycatch Advisory Board
Skycatch has assembled a group of trusted advisors like Karin Brietman, that will provide industry expertise and strategic navigation of key initiatives such as ESG and critical trends and actions impacting organizations. Michael Tapp is the current Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Skycatch. Michael has significant board experience and serves on the board of Embark, RiseIT Solutions, and iQ International AG. He also brings extensive industry and commercial experience holding senior leadership positions across multiple roles, including Chief Strategy and Operating Officer at Macfarlan Capital Partners, Partner and Board of Managers at Fluid Compressor Partners, President of Interstate Batteries, and most recently as an Operating Partner at HBC Investments.
Stephen D Walker is a current Advisory Board Member for Skycatch. He brings extensive industry expertise as the previous Managing Director and Head of Global Mining Research at RBC Capital Markets working with his partners to drive a cohesive global mining business strategy. He is currently serving on the Community of Interest Advisory Panel for the Mining Association of Canada and previously was a technical consultant for BP Energy Partners, LLC.
Todd Chapman is a current Advisory Board member for Skycatch. As United States Ambassador to Brazil, Todd Chapman is an award-winning diplomat with 30 years of experience and a two-time U.S. Ambassador to Brazil and Ecuador who served throughout South America, Africa, and Asia under six U.S. Presidents. His advisory role with Skycatch represents one of Chapman's first positions since retiring from the U.S. Foreign Service in July 2021.
Arturo Sarukhan is a current Advisory Board member for Skycatch. He is the former Ambassador of Mexico to the United States and is an international strategic consultant and advisor, public speaker, and media contributor based in Washington, D.C. He is the President of Sarukhan + Associates, LLC, a distinguished visiting scholar at the USC Annenberg Public Diplomacy School, an associate fellow at Chatham House in London, an adjunct professor at George Washington University, and a senior non-resident fellow at Brookings.
